We like to think we’re one of the best restaurants in London, but we also think that isn’t good enough on its own. We specifically want to offer the best Italian food you’ll get without hopping on a jet and travelling over to Italy itself. That includes the best pizza and the best pasta, not to mention the best fresh ingredients put together by the best chefs.
It also means offering an all-round eating experience which you won’t beat anywhere. A large part of this is down to the food, of course, but the ambience in which it is served and the friendly welcome you’ll receive from our staff both play their part. It’s also difficult to ignore the fact that we’re the best restaurant which happens to be just around the corner from the newly opened Design Museum.
A keen eye for good design plays a vital role in putting together an appealing plate of food and then serving it in an atmosphere which encourages relaxation and enjoyment. We’ve always worked with this in mind, and now that we’ve got a collection of some of the best design in the world located just around the corner we’re even more determined to make sure that Pizzicotto looks as good as it tastes and smells. If you’re a keen student of design, or simply someone who enjoys looking at beautiful objects in spectacular surroundings, then you should head for the Design Museum at your first possible opportunity, and when you’ve worked up an appetite then just pop round the corner to treat yourself to the best Italian food in Kensington.
Just to show how much attention we pay to the importance of design, we’ve taken note of some of the best designs of 2016, as shortlisted by the Design Museum itself.
Cover Design for David Bowie’s Blackstar
The stark simplicity of the design for Bowie’s Blackstar album was striking enough when it was first released, and then gained even more power when the music housed within was greeted with rapturous reviews and, sadly, when the great man himself passed away.
The Drinkable Book
A compact book in which each page can be torn out and used as a filter to provide clean water. The paper is ingrained with tiny silver particles which filter out illnesses and each page can supply clean water for up to thirty days. The Drinkable Book could offer an affordable, easily transported means of saving lives in parts of the world where clean drinking water is in short supply.
The Lumos Bicycle Helmet
An electronic cycling aid which could revolutionise the safety enjoyed by cyclists on busy city roads. The helmet features a white light at the front to aid visibility, a red light at the back to show when the cyclist is slowing down and orange lights on each side to act like the indicators on a motor vehicle.
The prototype City Fun in the Park Lego set includes inclusive figure representing modern Britain, such as a boy in a wheelchair and a man pushing a pram.
Here at Pizzicotto we understand the importance of dining in a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Just one step into our restaurant, and we guarantee you’ll understand too. Come by and join us for a relaxing evening surrounded by delicious food and great people. Why not make it a family night? We have something for everyone to enjoy! While you’re in the area, why not stop by the Design Museum to revel at the awe-inspiring designs and make room in that stuffed tummy!
